If you could ask a scientist about coronavirus, what questions do you have? Wondering about social distancing, wiping down packages, when will it be safe to go back to school?
We’re back with another installment of our "Ask a Scientist" series. Throughout 2020, we’ve been hosting Zoom conversations with scientists and learning about coronavirus, debunking myths, and sharing good information.
This week’s installment will featureTaylor Winkleman, a veterinarian and public health policy professional with experience working in public health in the US, Bahrain, Uganda, New Zealand, and more. She has written policy on Capitol Hill, overseen federal research in the executive branch, consulted for non-profits and think tanks, and is currently a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow. Her areas of expertise include One Health, infectious disease, and modeling. She cohosts the monthly Pandemic Prediction Forecasting Science and Technology group meetings, is the current coordinator and a founding member of the Next Generation Global Health Security Agenda, and teaches science policy and international policy at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Outside of work, you can find her exploring socially distanced wineries in Virginia and Maryland and playing on the flying trapeze. Taylor currently lives and works in Washington, DC.
We will be livestreaming the conversation to our Masks for Humanity website, YouTube, and Facebook page. In preparation, if you have questions for our scientist, please send them here. During the live event, you can comment and ask questions on our Facebook page.
